So you are worried by this ? Well sorry to to be the one to break this to you, but you are probably a bit thick. I can understand you missing the importance of the date of the patent application, but did you really think any patent office would grant a patent on the letter A, and even if they did, that any government would let someone charge money for it ?
When I wrote this I expected most people to realize it was a joke on the first page, and everyone else by the second page. I am sorry if I have caused you to worry, there is nothing to worry about, I do not own a patent to the letter A, I am not going to charge you to use it, and I am not going to send people round to take away your car, your home, or anything you own, you are safe.
But the silver lining to this is that you have just learned a valuable lesson. Do not believe everything you read, and more importantly, always get advice from a reliable person who you can trust before paying for anything more controversial that a loaf of sliced bread.
